On the Edge of an Abyss
The face is at once the irreparable being-exposed of humans and the very opening in which they hide and stay hidden”, as Agamben wrote. The face is the visible, yet it is a visibility that never fully discloses itself. It is an opening we can approach, but one we can never completely reach.

Every face is always suspended on the edge of an abyss. Here, I echo the reflections of Agamben.

The Face is this impossibility of reducing the Other to Nothingness. And here I am echoing Emmanuel Levinas.
